Rain Boots

After having my tennis shoes soaked through and the bottoms of my jeans dripping wet from the rain yesterday, I’m starting to think I may need to pick up a nice pair of rain boots. I love these simple ones and am kind of digging them in red.

Peeporama

With Easter approaching, one of my favorite things ever has returned: the Washingtong Post Peeps Diorama Contest!

I love this peeps contest and the detail that went into so many of the entries.

You can see them all here, or check out some of my favorites below. (Click on the thumbnails to enlarge the images.)

Studio Mela

My friend Anabel (hi Anabel!) told me today that Studio Mela is having a Buy One Print Get One Free Spring Sale.

Check it out here.

Bedside Chair

I think this DIY project on Design*Sponge may be my favorite one that I’ve seen. It’s so cute and a great solution for a small space. I might just have to try this one someday.

More Adorable Animals

My mom just forwarded an email to me that contained the following pictures. They are adorable, so I thought I would share them.

Pets on Furniture

Have you ever seen Desire To Inspire’s feature Pets on Furniture? It’s exactly what it sounds like: readers send in adorable and hilarious photos of their pets lounging on furniture. I love it. My favorite pictures are the enormous dogs that have squeezed themselves into small chairs or couch corners. Pets can be so ridiculous.

Maybe I should send in a photo of my ridiculous cat. He’s constantly sleeping like this:

The Cove {Movie Recommendation}

I love a good documentary film. Last year, I wrote about Man on Wire, which is an immensely fun and happy documentary about Philippe Petit’s 1974 high wire walk between the Twin Towers. The story is exciting and it’s depicted in a way that really invites you to become a part of the stealthy, secretive quest to tiptoe on top of the world.

The Cove, which Dan and I watched yesterday, is equally successful at drawing you into it’s undercover, stealth mission, but leaves you with an entirely opposite emotional outcome. It’s a devastating film, crushing and heartbreaking. You will marvel at the horror that is revealed and the audacity of those who commit it. There are moments in this movie that are very hard to watch, but I emphatically encourage you to watch this film anyway. No one on earth should remain ignorant to the atrocities depicted in this documentary, nor should they be denied the flat out awesomeness of how this film was made.

So go, watch it and spread the word. Knowledge is power. Help bring this story further into the light.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

I would like to send out an enormous thank you to everyone who participated in my Super Awesome Mega Cool Massage Giveaway and a double thank you to everyone who helped me spread the word about it! While I didn’t quite reach my goal of 50 entries, I got pretty darn close. So to celebrate and show my appreciation, I’ve decided to choose two winners! That’s right, TWO people will receive gift certificates for a free 30 minute Extremities Treatment massage session!

Who has two thumbs and is the most generous massage therapist in Baltimore?

THIS GAL! (That’s a picture of me.)

Yesterday, I chose two winners via a random number generator and today, I’m happy to announce that the winners of my Super Awesome Mega Cool Massage Giveaway are:

Lauren (athlEAT) and CharmCityKim! Congratulations ladies! I’ll be emailing you soon about where to send your gift certificates.

Thanks again to everyone who participated and don’t forget that everyone who entered gets 10% off of any massage session scheduled on or before April 30th! Give me a call and celebrate spring with a fabulous massage!

If you want to know about upcoming giveaways or other promotions, be sure to keep an eye on my website or become a fan of Claire Taylor Massage on Facebook. I’ll be running special promotions for Facebook fans and I had so much fun doing this giveaway that I’m thinking I’ll hold another one in the future!

And one final note to end things here:

May is National ALS Awareness Month. ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Awareness is an important cause to me because my grandmother was diagnosed and lived with this terrible disease for two years before passing away in April of 2000. To honor her memory and support the efforts of those who are working to find ways to treat and cure ALS, I will be donating 10% of all massage proceeds I receive during the month of May directly to ALS research. You can help me donate to this important cause by scheduling a May massage.

Thanks and congrats again to our wonderful winners!
