It’s Complicated

Finally, a movie about old people getting it on that doesn’t star Jack Nicholson.

I saw this movie last week. It was awful. But I am biased, I hate romantic comedies. Meryl’s character was so unrealistic, from her perfect garden, to her perfect home, perfect job, perfect children it was sickening.

I get that it’s great b/c we are actually seeing a movie about people in relationships over the age of 30, but it’s still the same cliche crap but with a different age box to check.

Romantic comedies are just a joke of themselves.

I suggest the Other Sister if you want a nontraditional romantic comedy. Mostly because I love Juliette Lewis actually trying to act like she is retarded instead of just naturally sounding that way. I will also never get sick of hearing classic lines like “Stop laughing at MAAAAAAAA!” and “We did it on Tanks-giving”.

It is truly a great example of how romantic comedies are literally retarded forms of actual film.
