Duckpins

elh70

My parents, sister and sister’s boyfriend are visiting this weekend. Everyone arrives tomorrow and I am getting pumped for their visit. We’ll be partaking in all of the best Baltimore activities: lacrosse game, crab feast and duckpin bowling.

Duckpins are so much fun! If you’ve never played, it’s basically like bowling only pint-size. The pins are small, the balls are small and you get three rolls per frame instead of two. I think it’s a lot more enjoyable than regular bowling and I’m definitely better at duckpins than I am at the full size game.

Have you ever played?

Here Comes The Sun

It’s sunny in Baltimore today! I took the dog for a walk this morning and felt instantaneous joy when I stepped outside into the sun. It’s very windy and still a bit cold, but I don’t care. The sun makes all the difference in the world.

Snowed In

Over the weekend, Baltimore got about 30 inches of snow. The city really isn’t equipped to deal with that much snow and many of the roadways have yet to be plowed. Weather forecasters are predicting another 6-10 inches to fall on Tuesday into Wednesday morning. At this rate, my office will be closed for the rest of the week.

We spent our snowy weekend watching movies, playing board games with some neighbors down the street and running through the snowy park with our dog.

Gorgeous

Right now, it is absolutely beautiful in Baltimore. Sunny, bright, 55 degrees. It makes me want to go out and purchase new deck furniture, or start replanting my little backyard garden. For now, I’m managing to suppress those urges. I sat outside this morning and read for a bit with the sun on my face, though. It was incredible.

Tonight, I’m going out dancing with some girlfriends. Two thumbs way up for Friday!

though the issue might not be top of mind for sophisticated and urbane readership of this website, let this serve as your warning: should you find yourself in, say, fayetteville, arkansas (like melissa, a california transplant currently attending the u of a) you’ll soon realize how important it is to lay down the law with regard to proper cud disposal.

of course, when you live as far north as baltimore and notice that your boss has taken to spitting chaw in your trash can, the situation becomes that much more dire.
