Life Is Funny

There’s a feature on the Life website where you can guess whether a picture is real or fake. This is how I’ve spent most of my workday.

Some of the real ones are ridiculously awesome.

They Can’t All Be Midnight Cowboy

As I write this, a coworker of mine is interviewing Jon Voight. Jon freaking Voight, star of Midnight Cowboy and Coming Home. That’s pretty awesome. In honor of my coworker’s grand foray into big-time interviewing, I perused Voight’s IMDB page to see what all the famed thespian has done since his magnificent turn as Joe Buck way back in 1969.

I was of course aware of his role in the most recent season of 24 as the evil and positively reprehensible Jonas Hodges (he irritated me throughout the entire season).

There was his traitorous role in Mission Impossible.

And let us not forget him as the hirsute Paul Sarone in the masterpiece that was Anaconda.

But what of all his great roles that may have gone unnoticed, or have simply faded from our memories with the passage of time?

Like Coach Bud Kilmer, in Varsity Blues:

Or Hamilton Cage, in The Karate Dog:

(Voight is not in this picture. How much do you want to go out and rent this movie now?)

He was Bill Biscane, in Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 (also starring the immensely gifted Scott Baio):

And perhaps my favorite from Voight’s extensive body of work:

Principal Dimly, from the cinematic treasure Bratz:

It’s all gold people. Hollywood gold.

Hilarity Ensues

Badder Homes and Gardens had a post today about The Blake Wright that was cracking me up, so I decided to check out the website.  Here are some of my favorites:

Old People Are Hilarious

My Homer is not a communist.  He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star.

House Plants

I picked a few flowers from the planting beds in our backyard, put them in a small vase and then set the vase on a side table next to the couch in our living room. The living room looks infinitely better now than it did without this very small addition. I’m a big fan of indoor plants and flower arrangements–they really brighten up a room.

Some great examples (from Apartment Therapy):

This one isn’t inside, but I just love it:
